Steps to Set Up Netgear Orbi WiFi System
A WiFi System is a system that sends signals to other devices. The router is connected to the internet modem and acts as a broadcast. An OrbiWiFi system is made of routers and one or more satellites.
Here are the steps to set up your Orbi WiFi System.
Step 1 Install Orbi app and launch it. However, the first time you have launched the app, it will ask you to create a NETGEAR account. It will allow registering your post, emails, product offers, and support.
Step 2 After logging in to the Orbi app, click on the option GET STARTED! Then click on ENABLE CAMERA AND SCAN.
Now scan the QR code on the Orbi router’s sleeve or base. Then click on the ‘CONTINUE’ option.
Step 3 Select the number of Orbi satellites and your product in the system. After selecting it, click on
‘CONTINUE’.
Step 4 Now it’s time to restart your modem. Here are a few baby steps;
- Locate your modem and then click on CONTINUE.
- Now Unplug your modem and then click on CONTINUE.
- Plug your modem back in and now wait for the lights to stabilize. After stabilizing now click on CONTINUE.
Step 5 After restarting your modem, now it’s time to connect your Orbi WiFi System. Follow these steps.
- Connect the Orbir router’s yellow Internet port to the modem’s Ethernet port.
- Plugin the Orbri router into an outlet by using the supplied power adapter.
- Wait for five minutes so that your Obri router can startup.
The following colors indicate different meanings;
Orbi Blue light: – it states a good connection between Orbri router & satellite devices.
NetgearOrbi Solid Magenta: – it indicates that the Orbi satellite is not connected to the Orbi router.
Orbi pink light: – It indicates an average connection between Netgear Orbi Router and satellite.
If it continues blinking, try to reboot your devices.
Step 6 Now plug our Orbi satellites into outlets in the same room where your Obri router uses the supplied power adapters.
Now, return to the Orbi app and click on CONTINUE. You can see a progress bar when your obri login is setting up.
Step 7 In this step, you will connect to your Orbi router’s default WiFi. follow these instructions;
- Click on the WiFi settings of your phone.
- Now connect your Orbi’s default WiFi SSID. you can easily find it on Orbi router’s product label.
- When your mobile phone connects to Orbi router’s default WiFi SSID, then click on CONTINUE.
Step 8 After clicking CONTINUE, the Personalize page will appear.
Step 9 Click on NEXT. The Create WiFi network page will appear.
Step 10 Now choose your Orbi WiFi network name and then set a password. After setting the password click on NEXT.
Step 11 The page of set up login will appear. Select your Orbi router’s admin password then click on NEXT.
Step 12 The page of Set Up Security Questions will appear. Select and answer two security questions to recover your Orbi router admin credentials in case you forget them.
Step 13 If it is prompted by your mobile then click on suggested WiFi networks. Your phone will connect to your WiFi. Then click on CONTINUE.
Step 14 The Orbi router will check if your firmware is up to date. It will hardly take 5 minutes. If you found your new firmware and click on UPDATE.
Then click on NEXT.
Step 15 Place your Orbi satellites in permanent locations.
